Overview

At the heart of all CAT liquid handling instruments there is a rotary-axial piston and cylinder, machined from an acid-proof ceramic, Al2O3 which is extremely hard and highly chemical resistant, ensuring a long working life. The motorized units are driven by a robust maintenence free stepper-motor.
The great advantage of this pump developement is its valveless construction, benefiting in minimum dead volume and removing the any tendency to jam or leak. The units are also self-deaireating, which guarantees that measurement errors caused by air bubbles are avoided. Since the fluid pathways are either PTFE/PEEK/PVDF/Tefzel and Al2O3, the system can be thoroughly cleansed and chemically sterillised.

HPLH Micrometering Pumps

CAT HPLH200 Piston pump High precision pumps in a coated steel case with a detachable LCD controller and programming unit. All relevant parameters, e.g. volume, flow-rate and flow direction, are set via the key-pad on the control unit, which can be used remotely from the pump.

The key-pad has 3 function- and 2 hot-keys, plus an analogue encoder wheel for fast data entry, enabling intuitive adjustment of the set values. The back-lit LCD shows both set and actual volumes, flow-rate, and other functions. A choice of units of volume, flow-rate and specific weight can be pre-programmed, e.g. µl, ml, mg, g, µl/s, ml/m.

This has a RS232 port and can be used with the FREE CAT Labcontrol for Windows software giving flexible options for multistep programs. TTL inputs and analogue control inputs are also standard.

Available with a built in rinse port pump to ensure clean fluid paths.

HPLH-PF Pulsefree Micrometering Pumps

CAT HPLH200 Pulsefree Piston pump This digital pump employs two independently controlled pump heads. The result is a pulse-free flow without the need for secondary pulse dampeners. Apart from separate housing chambers for pumps and PC board, this pulse-free pump features the same performance as the standard HPLH pumps. The pump has a LCD and membrane keypad interface for fast and easy numeric input of all relevant parameters e.g. volume, flow-rate, flow direction and time. When detached from the pump housing the keypad can be used as a remote controller. Wetted parts are Al2O3 and Tefzel.

CAT DP200VCS Piston pump This is a compact digital piston pump for flowrates upto 40ml/min. Settings can be entered through the membrane keypad or through RS232. The ceramic pumphead are embedded either a stainless steel or Fluoride plastic coated headcase.
