Magnetic stirrers are used for stirring (and heating) lower to medium viscosity fluids.
A PTFE coated magnetic stir bar (fleas) is placed inside the fluid, this couples with the rotating magnets inside stirrer.<br><br>
Magnetic stirrers are more compact than overhead stirrers, and can also have heating elements to heat the fluid as you stir.<br><br>
Magnetic stirrers are not suitable for high viscosity fluids (see our <A target=_new HREF="ohstir.htm"> overhead stirrer range </A>),
or for stirring applications that need high shear or very fine dispersion please see our <A target=_new HREF="homog.htm"> homogeniser range</A>.<br>

<H2 ALIGN=left NOWRAP>MCS77/78 Range- Programable Hotplate Magnetic Stirrer</H2>

The MCS77 and MCS78 replace the successful MCS67/68 hotplates. Designed as a multi-tasking hotplate stirrer, they have four step timer system which allows for generation of user-defined temperature and stirring profiles.  For each timer step the following parameters can be set: hotplate and sensor temperature, motor speed and temperature-slope. <I>Fuzzy-logic</I> control optimally sets the PID algorythms to reach the programmed temperatures as fast as possible but with minimal overshoot.<BR>
