On Saturday 11th July, 53 brave souls, stalwarts of the community, donned wellies & waterproofs to attend our annual barbecue.
Though occasionally the heavens opened & the rain came down, we were kept dry in our ‘tented village’ created in the garden of Ogwell Mill. Grateful thanks go to Caroline & Jamie for offering us the use of such beautiful surroundings.
Hot food was eaten & beer was drunk in cosy settings, complimented by candlelight & pretty posey decorated tables. Gentlemen stood round the fire telling tales of days gone by, & the beer barrel went down.
The Ladies of the village triumphed in the salads they produced, & their luxurious, sumptuous deserts left one with tingling sensations & ‘will I be seen going back for more’ feelings.
Our many thanks to all who helped organise, set-up & dismantle, whose names are too many to mention. It is really a pleasure to see how a village comes together.
